Virginia were not done yet, moving the ball well while inturn slowing the Pies usual running game.
The Rams extended their lead to 25 points at the final break.
Mallala supporters were expecting a big comeback in the last but were sadly disappointed as the Ram train ran away with the match, blowing the score out to a 43 point win.

Reserves
Mallala started strongly but failed to capitalise on their opportunities with 6 scoring shots to 3 at the break to lead by 8 points.
The Pies again had most of the ball winning most centre clearances, but were wasteful kicking 8 straight behinds to Virginia, 3 majors.
Down by 4 points at half time Mallala were determined to improve their strike rate & managed 4-1 to the Rams 2-1 to snatch back the lead by 6 points at the final break.
The Rams came home with a wet sail kicking 3-3 to seal the match that should have been over by half time if Mallala knew where the goals were.
Virginia by 7 points.
Final Score
Virginia 9 – 9
Mallala 7 – 14
Senior Colts
In cold drizzly conditions both teams came out ready to play. The last time they met in round one, Virginia won by a couple of points and this game promised to show who had improved.
Virginia started really well and within the first 10 minutes scored three goals from Bannear, Galic and Lazenka. Mallala took time to settle and when they did players Algar, Helps, Martin and Konzag were providing plenty of forward movement. With Dylan Winning playing a terrific game against the dangerous Anton Pogas and Josh Page stopping any forward entry for Virginia, Mallala continued to push forward at every opportunity. In the end the Magpies had the better of their opponents and won by 29 points. Matthew Monticelli played a good game in his first for the Magpies. Allen Sparks missed this game for the Magpies and will be out for the season after his hand came off second best in a motorcycle mishap during the week.
Final Score
Mallala 8.8 56
Virginia 4.3 27
Juniors Colts
In overcast conditions the Mallala boys continued their unbeaten run.
With solid contributions from all players they were able to keep Virginia to just the one scoring shot. Jarred Dunstan played a terrific game in ruck and around the ground, giving Mallala first use of the ball and he also kicked four goals. Angus Clothier continued with his solid form for the season and gathered many possessions. For Virginia all tried hard to try and stop Mallala from scoring.
Final Score
Mallala 8.4 -52
Virginia 0.1- 1
